Is it ok to trim these back at this time of year or am I better leaving it another month? As you can guess I'm not an expert in these matters but love the forum anyway - more for the photography than the knowledge of all things wood.

 

The missus is nagging me to get our conifers trimmed but I'm holding out for warmer weather

Now is the the perfect time for trimming conifers, no birds nesting and they'll stay nice looking for the summer which is when we all use our gardens.

Few randoms of an Oak felling job. A structural engineers report had passed the death sentence on 5 of them.

 

Fun job, helped by Ross Smith for a couple of days for some of the more tricky climbing.

 

All the decent sized chunks will be heading to the mill next week.

depends where you live mate, you need to watch for frost, salty wind and the dreaded east wind up here. That hedge of Matts has been trimmed regular to get it so tight, if yours has never been touched dont expect to get it so tight in, If you take to much off and any of the above have an effect on it you will get windburn.
