Sounds good Hama but I would add the reading time up to weeks, if not months.

You dont know me very well!

2 hours and ive speed read the jist of the Phd proscess, would appear ive been doing a lot of this stuff already, now ive just gotta start putting it all into one place, within a context, pull a load of papers off the scientific sites to bulk up my "current knowledge and thinking" then get down and dirty with learning the statistical bits and funding my scopes:thumbup:

If you go hunting on a full stomach youll most likely fail, hunger, REAL hunger tends to sharpen the senses and enhance abilities!

These books are a big help!:001_cool:

80,000 words on my top subject, pulling all the current knowledge together, the great works of the subject, evaluate the current situation and state of the art methods build the research methodology and put it into action, oh man this will be a steep learning curve, and i loves it i does!:001_smile:

No Giles i dont think i can do it that way, and an FDSC is 1400 a year, then theres the Bhc, Msc and then degree by research AKA the PHD, an abbreviation I am affraid to use as it sounds like.... well like i fancy myself!

i shall email a few PHD dudes and see if anyone can oversee the research, ive got a few in mind but this is going to be a long shot, it has to be overseen and mentored by established researchers PHD's understanderbly.

I cant go it totaly alone for one thing the Species is protected under section 8 of the wildlife act, and a uk.BAP priority species, as are all hericiums and the oak polypore to name but a few. I would ask natural england but me thinks like other inquiries to them im better off not even asking them.

I shall do my emails to the JNCC and a few PHD's and see what realisticly i am looking at, this HAS to be doable.:001_huh:

i came out of my FdSc with £12000 debt worked out at my current re payment sit will take me 350 months to pay off

Ouch:thumbdown:! i'm paying mine off monthly by dd at £175 a month !

Aint easy is it guys.

I couldnt cope with the fees, not in my current situation, if I had given up on book purchases (defeats object of excersise) and cut back in a few places maybe i could have scraped by, i have a serious book fetish, have had for the last 2 years and its only getting worse!

the best books are all in excess of 100!

Been finding a few second hand lately though, and dads learning the dark art of leather book binding/covering too!

I found a great course on the open university too, prepairing for research analysis and something or other, perfect start to this proscess.

also no suprise to find that when doing a doctorate one should not be performing any of the tasks within for the first time, which is all the mnore reason to get my arse down to cardiff uni over the coming months for a chat with some like minded folks.

My main drive at the moment is compiling and researching current knowledge and information, one things certain, im entering a couple of areas of research that are as yet untapped!

origionality is no hitch here!
