footlocking

hey guys, ive not long started using a vt and srunggling to fooklock after it,i used to use a prussic loop and found alrite on there,

any one tell me how to do it and any other tips would be good

a bit vague but what? you want to know how to footlock, bit difficult to explain through words. it would be easier for someone to show you if your going to use a prussik, learn to tie a kleimheist prussik slightly loose. alot less friction than a prussik. make sure it's long enough to be slightly out of reach at full stretch. if your willing to fork out a bit of money get a double ascender, worth every penny.

I find footlocking on a VT in general not that effcient, only doing it when I redirect through a crotch and need to get back upto it (which is rare) or slightly more often when my anchor point leaves me hanging away from the main trunk or branches.

 

Basically my point is I personally only footlock short distances on a VT.

 

I do have a pantin which I prefer to use if I can see myself needing it during a climb.

I find my Pantin very useful, I don't see why more climbs wont use them.
