Delivery time for Firewood

I just called my local tree surgeon for a load of firewood (crew cab transit tipper) and he told me ill have it in a couple of weeks.

Ive typically been able to source my own forewood from various sources FOC so its my first time buying it this way but i thought a 2 week lead time was a bit long. I know im not in a panic for it so its ok now but what lead time do you lot typically have to deliver a load of firewood?

I dont think it will have anything to do with the firewood. He could be busy doing tree work and not have time for log deliveries. We make our money swinging about trees and the firewood is an extra brought on by the demand in the last few years.

I do my logs on a friday because that is when my LOG BOY is out, he is cheaper to pay than a qualified tree surgeon to bag logs, so i get him to do it:biggrin:.

I agree with steve, I try and get all my log deliveries down to a couple of days a month this time of year as I get a couple of school lads to give a hand loading and unloading, makes it a bit more profitable than having the tree team do it.

7-10 days average for me once the season gets going,if they can't wait or desperate i sometimes give the option of an 8am sunday delivery, don't like doing it but keeps the wolves from the door :001_smile:

depends how busy i am with tree work, usually deliver at the end of a working day. at the moment i have 15 orders pending, i told the customers that they will be delivered in the next month unless they need it sooner. Most are ok with this.
