I always thought that a bag was a cube, but then realised that it is (apparently) 90cmx90cmx90cm = .729 of a metre, but I've also seen this size bag described as .9 of a cube - most confusing.

I guess the volume varies in volume if it bulging too!

Anyway, I guess it's just a case of watch out for weights and measures i fyou are advertising volumes

I

I guess the volume varies in volume if it bulging too!

First thought:-

As the length of the sides cant increase when bulging in the middle the corners will come in. I am almost positive that the volume will decrease exponentially the more it bulges.

Think of a cardboard box, if you bulge it in one direction the other two sides come in & reduce the volume & if you keep pulling two sides out the other two side meet & you have NO volume at all.

Second thought:-

If the sides are added up on a 0.8m bag they come to 3.2m.

Using Pi to work out the volume if it was a round bag 0.8m high it would be 0.68m3.

So

As the base wont let the bag go round at the base I suspect that reality falls some where in between these examples & the bags volume does not change much when bulging.

So who is up for measuring it using water?

(line it with plastic first)
