Got a few of the people i take logs to trained now so they stock up now in prep for winter. This is good for them as the logs will be dry when they wont to burn them and its good for me as i deliver on evenings so its light at this time of year and it saves room in my yard so i can store enough for Mr iv just run out,any chance of a dry load!:cussing:

Plain simple fact, you can't get wood dry if you don't split it .

Oak for example laying in logs will retain moisture for decades . Even in short rounds, upsplit it will take several years .

I've been at this stuff for the best part of 40 years and can tell you the best thing to do is cut, split and stack the stuff in a timely fashion to get the best results .
