I make sure nothing can go wrong its called planning work site organisation. I have never in all my time in the trade hurt no one or nothing not because of luck but because i make sure i plan my work.

I know what my insurance covers i did have to go through it before i got the policy and since im clearly getting a excellent deal im not going to tell other people thats the competition. Like it or not we are all competing for the same work.

You talk crap i can not believe you get TPO work without the tickets wind your neck in no one is saying you cant do your job as you say with your experiance you obviousley can. Accidents have nothing to do with planning thats why they are called accidents people are just trying to offer you some advice in case one day super awesome tree surgeon has an injured person on there site and oops aresole insurance company wont pay! Chill out!! I hate crap like this if we are competition and you dont want to offer good advice why do you even post?..........not having a go like!!!!!!!:fisheye:

Just renewed my insurance. Reading the small print is an eyeopener.

I think I may have to be the worlds bestest tree person to be covered. Even then there is a £500 excess. We just put our liability cover up to 5 mil to cover our asses and we generally only do domestic work.

It is getting out of hand. I blame the claims culture and down with solicitors too. Baaaaa!:bawling:

It is indeed a burden we carry. But at least you can answer the question with confidence when asked.

I found there was not a big difference in cost between 1million and 5million. When I had 1million, I found there was some commercial work that I had to turn down, as I did not have cover.

You only need one half decent commercial job to make up the difference. Always go for 5million even if you are 90% domestic like me.

You should be able to increase your cover just for the period of the job if you don't need the 5M all the time :icon14:

I have 5mil insurance, and my insurance company said that no tickets no pay in event of a claim ,My advisor also stated that if i sub contract to another company and i was involved in an accident that was prooved that i was wholy or partly resposible for, the employers insurance would come after me for some or all of the claim so if you are in employment full time and subby at weekends my advice is get some public liability insurance. Its cheeper than loosing everything for that beer money fund.
