How to be a good climber.

I am not a mind reader, I cannot read lips so do not expect instructions from 50ft up in the tree to be understood with all the machines roaring.

Do not come down from the tree spend an eternity reeling up your rope, and other timewasting activities. if you must, have a quick fag, slip off your harness and lend a hand.

Its not illegal to come down halfway during the job and get on top of the clearing, use the ladder to get back up.

Climbers often have gravity to help them, groundsmen don't. just because it took 10secs to cut does not mean it takes the same to clear up.

groundies do not get a lot of money for a tough job, they will not throw themselves in front of a badly dropped branch to save a patio door etc, rarely is there sick pay.

Try and drop the branches pointing towards the chipper or lower them on a rope so the tip just touches the ground and it can be steered towards the machine.

Lastly (this is lifted from elsewhere) if you think you can clear up any faster, come down and show me.
