I've worn meindle boots for about 5yrs now ~ same pair . They have Gore Tex ( well , there's a little tag lable on the side that says they are ) . They have kept my feet dry and warm through some filthy weather , not sure about competition climbing , but certainly fit the bill for general run of the mill tree work . The rubber trim on the side and covering the steel toe cap not so brilliant , but they still don't leak . Seems like they were a good investment . Bought from Fuji at the arb fair.

Ok, thanks for all the tips, and sorry to bore you all with another boot thread, I was one click away from a new pair of boots, but now I’m tempted by the Airstreams, how good/ comfy are they?

I’m of to NZ in about a month and was wandering if they good enough to double up as a hiking boot? Saves me the baggage/money of buying a separate pair

I use the Meidl climbing boot. For climbing!!! The sole has been cut lower so its not to comfy for long walks and the design of the loops for the laces is good -doesent get caught or scratches the tree, but quite hard to tie for that snug fit. They dont have holes on the sides of the shoe so the heel feels quite loose in the shoe. I really like them for climbing but I wont buy another pair.

Id go for the other meindl boot I think.

The climber one is good in that the shoe is quite narrow and I have never managed to get my foot stuck in a crotch (as I have with previous boots)

Good for footlocking too

Year I’ve had this problem too, only ever had Aquafells (standard company issue) until now!:001_cool:
