well not really spring......but nearly :001_rolleyes:

suprised, but this Birch is pretty much all that's failed in the last run of wind we've had.

Gano's done for this one.

Won't be clearing, as it's in the woods.

Anyone else in the south east come across any failures over the last few days?

Well I guess you're kinda S E of Greenland :001_rolleyes::biggrin:

Remeber seeing this when you posted it originally.

When you say that the Kretz was completely internal, do you mean within included butress unions?

Good shots by the way.

Have you started the clearance yet?

.

There were internal cavities by the looks of it, difficult to work out but it seems like it was in those. Seems odd as this would mean when it sporulated it would just go onto the same tree?

Unfortunately I didn't

get the job. Phoned me up saying thanks but we will do it ourselves! Drove past an hour later and you could see the telehandler near the pond.

In this pic you can see that the decay was below soil level and that the kretz was inside. FB are just to the left of the remaining strap of wood.

Had this Kretzschmaria infected Beech down for a reduction, but was at the back of a fairly long list.

Especially as it 'was' standing in the woods away from targets.

.

This is why I said 'was' standing...........

The blow today aided the demise a litle earlier than it's wood munching host had in mind.
