I had a very interesting day today learning a bit about this. Thank you very much to Cousin Jack from this forum (and his friends Karen and David) for letting me go along. I had a good day and look forward to doing more of it in the future. The woodland was very pretty so there are a few random photos too!

Great pictures Katie, and thanks for your company. I have to say everyone, that Katie is not your average tree person, 1, she is very pretty, and 2, she is very intelligent, so that beats Saw Sick Steve on both counts

Mozza, you're welcome anytime, the way the feller is going at it, we will be on this job for a few more weeks yet.

Bareroots, horses are at their best on steep ground, pm your telephone number and I'll put you in contact with someone from Witherslack who will be able to do the job, all the best, CJ

i have for a long time wanted to do this! great post Kat1e, great photos and I am very very green with envy, what a great way to earn a living, and what a great way to work the forest from an ecology point of view.

Big up the horse loggers, may you long reign supreme over those horrible great machines.

Oiii!!!! I resemble that remark!!

What do you know about intelligence and good looks? You're a squarehead! I expect in comparison to you, when it comes to looks and intelligence, your horse wins hands (hooves?) down.

Nice pics, BTW.
