These buggers always catch you off guard.

Advertising and debt collection. Loads of scammers.

If you have the time or energy, keep them on the phone as long as possible- give em the run around. Managed this once, on a lunch break- v funny. They get really nasty when they realise though!

Get about one call a month and always from Manchester or Liverpool.

Yep 2-3 a day here as well always via yell or thompson. I used to give them the run around but can't be bothered anymore. I only answer the phone to area codes from my work area and mobiles.

It was a long time ago and people do many things for cash when there young. The people who own the company are the crooks IMO. The guys on the phone are just doing any other telesales job. Unfortunately when a 'fat carrot' is dangled some people will go to great lengths to try and get it. I don't agree with this form of telesales one bit and I tend to repsond with quite loud expletives followed by a sharp hangup.
