Will probably be made in China.

Might as well be as that's where the steel will come from now our steel industry has been closed down.

It is depressing as the UK has always had a very strong hand tool manufacturing sector. Spear and Jackson tools are still made in Sheffield and Darlac tools (which I really like - got some great heavy duty Darlac shears) in Slough were manufacturing in the UK but I think since they were bought out by Mr Fothergill Seeds they import a lot from Taiwan. Faithful still make tools in the UK but import a lot from Asia as well.

If these UK manufacturing companies go we really will have become nothing more than a service economy where "work" means drinking latte at a desk and pushing a computer mouse around.

Wouldn’t it be mint if I was currently sat at a table, assembling a device that has the main component CNC milled less than a mile from my house in the reindustrialising North East of England.

NB My (Chinese) iPhone wants to spellcorrect reindustrialising to deindustrialising. Not today, slitty-eyed tat slags.
