Not had a Ruddles County for donkeys. Used to really like it but forgot all about it. Pleasingly bitter.

We could google it, but narr. It is something to do with the rain on the soil IIRC. Whatever it is, it is nice/

The smell of rain on parched earth - wonderful. Rain on hot tarmac - not so much..

love the smell of the rain. glad I now have a word for it!

My simple pleasure has got to be driving past a tree we've worked on and saying to the mrs 'see that tree there'.. at which point she rolls her eyes as she knows im about to bore her about the work we did and why we did it. obviously the eye roll doesn't stop me wittering on. she's a lucky lady.

I used to get away with that until I introduced 'good places to stop a tractor for a pee', the line was drawn there.

It's quite rewarding when you've repaired something and it's working better than ever thanks to your bodge/fix, a recurring simple pleasure every time you pass by it or put it to use.

Wondering this morning why the smell of rain on warm earth is so universally enjoyed, suppose it really mattered to our ancestors to have rain after a drought and that has stayed with us.

All of the above

and ..after milling the first cut, the big reveal of what the inside of the tree looks like.

A bit of a God like feeling as you and him are the first to see it.

Oh and a lazy snooze on the sofa being surrounded by sleepy whippets. Bliss.
