Good afternoon,

I’ve lost the fuel cap off my TW230d, didn’t think it would be a major issue but apparently (according to TW) my one is the old style and has been discontinued. I can not find anything to fit it!

Just wondering if anyone has one kicking about or knows where I can find one. It doesn’t even have to be specific, just needs to fit!

thanks in advance. IMG_8735.thumb.jpeg.ee1f43fb16f7affec56808a6105d0e2a.jpegIMG_8734.thumb.jpeg.b168fe229dbf77d59122caae9ebc5dcd.jpeg

Hi Scott, firstly let me offer my deepest condolences regarding your difficult situation. I know exactly how you feel, only recently I left my scabbard from my 201 at a customers house and haven’t been the same since.

I don’t have the fuel cap you’re looking for, but I’m there for you as a friend and as an ear to chat, if you ever need it that is.

All the best

You could try a tractor dealers, they will often have oddities or can order stuff.

Same thing happened to me and they got a couple in (Schliesing chipper)

Thanks Mick, yeah I’ve tried a few tractor places with no luck, also emailed every company under the sun, lawn mower places, lorry garages and nothing. Doing my head in!

If you can find a jar lid or flat disc that fits on the diameter you could mould one with this stuff:

I used it for a petrol cap for my makita backpack blower until I bought one.

On a hot day it will melt into your fuel, likely not fuel resistant either, so I'd avoid that idea.

Looks to be threaded. Can you measure it? Outside diameter and pitch of the thread., plus a close pic of the thread.

A 3d printer'ist would be able to print a new one in PETG which is a reasonably good suitable plastic for it. i have printed fuel and oil caps for my 020T chainsaw.

Another option, if its discontinued, how much would a modern fuel tank cost? Lots of sizes on amazon to chose from...

I can assure you it didn't, it melts at 62°C.

I actually wear a tooth guard made from it as I suffer from bruxism and a lot cheaper than what a dentist offers.
