I can have a draw off my pension in April, my plan is to get my last van, something wirh decent maintenance that will last ten years. I'm not buying new, something 2-3 years old, average mileage sort of thing. Must be at least H2L2. I've been a fan of Transits forever, although I now run a Citroen, so not really bothered about manufacturer. What would you buy?

Merc Sprinter with the 2.1 in it, the later 2.0 and less are too soft, regular engine oil changes and change box/diff oils twice as often as they recommend and you’ll have a good tub for a long while.

I still like my 4.2ton Peugeot boxer after 4 years, apart from it's gearbox, perhaps... but my fitter said I should have got myself a Citroën though ! ?

-After I'd recovered from the laughing fit, he pointed out that they have the Iveco engine and transmission in them, and because almost everyone snubs Citroën in this country, you get a lot more used van for your money in the UK.

About Citroens or 3.5 tonners in general?
I have run twin-rear wheel transit tippers since 2001 (3 of them)

They have all been excellent, reliable, willing, comfortable assets.

I wouldn’t look any further.

To be fair I don’t mind going over 3.5 ton, if I was choosing between the Relay, Boxer, and Ducato I'd go with the Fiat. Peugeot and Citroën share the same engine, Fiat's is said to be superior.

They look well, had one as a company van when I was on the water, all vans are strong money these days, I dont know if i rate them enough for the extra money.
