My meaning was waterproof jackets, I'll often wear a fleece if I'm standing around waiting but if its wet, its not going to help and I'll leave it in the car.

 

Yes weather is a lot easier here in the south. Its hot weather that I have more problems with.

I buy a new wet weather jacket most years, this year I got a Treeland chasse (hunt) type one, around a €100 and chasse stuff is usually pretty robust.

It’s always a compromise between staying dry from the rain and moving freely and not being soaked in sweat.

I’m not climbing in the pissing rain, and if it’s forecast all day I’m on the sofa watching Everyone Loves Raymond or Frasier.

If I was climbing up and down a railway embankment pulling gorse to a chipper I’d probably take more effort in choosing.
