Recommended Posts

Hi,

are there any legal or licencing restraints or requirements for the use of cones and tree cutting hazard signs?

fraid so matey!

chapter 8 etc, the problem is this is very important to get trained in this, as just throwing cones into the middle of any old road can lead to prosecution under the highways act (obstruction of a public highway)

make sure you try and follow the book on this one.

call your local Ag college or forestry training provider. they are doing them all the time. Some call the couses NRSWA, some call it chapter 8 and some call it SLAG (signing lighting and guarding).

yeah you will require street works training mate , highways departments have taken on guys specificly for stopping illegal stree works activity and the setting out of traffic managment equipment , and yes there are some serious fines to be given out . without sounding to rude i would like to point out that what was known as chapter8 has sort of been done away with not and is now covered by street works and there are several scheems out there that you can do , but personally before looking into doing any training i would get hold of a coppy of the street works manual and have a good read . there is far mor to it than meets the eye
