Need help folks

I have just got my hands on a husqvarna 444se and i am missing an air filter it's the early model and nobody seems to be able to supply me 1 ( discontinued) so I was told I can replace the carb for a newer model but don't know much about these things so need some advice

Even better is someone on here has a filter lying around for my saw as I would love to keep it as original as possible

Better known as the trouble four, there was a change to the carb it was  taken from the later 44, however i do not remember the air filter changing though, it may have got a little deeper but the face remained the same.

Just a brief history, it started life as the 140s followed by the 240s/se followed by the 340se ( good saw ) to the 444se, they suffered with heat and hot starting, i guess with todays fuel they would be even worse. there was an G and FG version with felling cushion, i will see if there are any filters still available for it.

Cheers for the info mate

I remember in the late 80s doing a bit of work on an estate in Central Scotland and there was a couple of guys doing 1st thins in the woods and they were using them

They said they were awesome wee saws. So when I got the chance of this 1 I had to have it.

Just need an air filter so my guy can set the carb up correctly as the saw will start and rev but won't tick over. He says he needs the filter so he can do this

You have the early carb, the later one has the part throttle when the choke is pulled, I have checked and unfortunately the filters are no long available from Husqvarna, so I guess you need to keep an eye out on the Bay for one.
