thinking of getting a woodburning stove advice please

I have a multi-fuel but as I now dry my own logs (unwanted offcuts are delivered for a small donation from a local tree surgeon/landscaper) I never have burnt anything other than wood on it. No adjustments required other than the air settings to burn the different fuels on mine but I guess you should check when buying.

 

If you are up for drying your own you clearly need to by an axe, saw and have somewhere to store the logs but once set-up the drying process is free and wood of the back of a truck can be very very cheap as it is a waste product if they are not burning or selling logs themselves.  Another plus side is the virtually zero CO2 like this as there is minimal transport miles and nothing burnt to dry them.

 

Due to the above I would get a pure wood burner if I was buying another, nothing wrong with my multi-fuel but what is the point if I'm only burning logs?

Also , if you get a wood specific stove it wont have a grate . I can recommend a Burley Hollywell nominal 5KW wood only stove .

Hi,I have got an esse multifuel,logs or cowboys,it's a 5kw bought straight from their workshops in Barnoldswick Lancashire,I've had it about 5yrs now and looks just like new,have no problem recommending this company as I bought first one from shop in kendal only to find out it was 4yrs old they all have a number which tells the company it's age,the company director come to south lakes and told me he would send me a brand new one after been duped by shop!!!I would not go to any other company now but their's, it's glass door you would just think you were looking at the television,also lakeland logs from penrith they have never put price up for last 4yrs good luck with your new venture joe crabtree south lakes cumbria
