Question
the village idiot
Good evening Oh wise ones.
An acquaintance of mine has a large oak in their garden which is starting to split in two from the base of the crown.
This is way outside of my field of knowledge in terms of what can be done. There are constructions under the tree that would be damaged should the split continue and the limbs fall off.
Is there any method of bracing/strapping the stem, or is it a crown reduction job?
Is there anyone in the South Suffolk area that would be able to have a look and quote for remedial action?
