61 plate ?? What model is that.
Shouldn’t matter where it comes from you’d think, reality is it should not be happening. Seems in this case  Ford agrees with this as there’s a dedicated section of customer services dealing with this and centres set up to sort the effected vehicles. But yes the undersealing is definitely worth the effort and cost.

It’s a Xl 4X4 D/C Tdci, that’s all I know.

Basically a Mazda. So a proper truck, not a tartmobile (apologies, I know most on here use them for actual work!)

Both of mine are about the same as the photos posted above minus the rotten sump- but the doublecab hasn’t gotten worse in the five years I’ve had it. And that’s a 57 plate! Keep meaning to waxoyl them, the new tipper especially.

This would be the proper truck I’d be chasing  if it were not for the insane price. I owned the older Mazda/Ranger pick up years ago,  good tool.

Look up “Ford Ranger T6 Rusty Chassis group”

Ford are carrying out ‘good will’ repairs to the chassis. They will put a new treated chassis on if necessary.

Ford have said they will end 'goodwill' scheme end of November so if anyone still may be affected get in quick.

Had mine in and chassis replaced, they swapped out a good few components/ brackets and fitted a new exhaust at the same time. The remainder was coated with a  heavy type of underseal. Total time it was with them was 13days, 22 plate Ranger wildtrack  was dropped off as a replacement when they collected mine “ sadly not the new v6 model”

Got 23 years out of a land cruiser before the chassis rusted out. Everything else is mechanically perfect. While painting it last year I noticed rust bubbles on the sills, started probing a bit, they’re rotten as well. So I bought a 2010 pajero as a replacement, plan is to weld the chassis and replace the sills on the land cruiser as it’s only 4 years away from vintage. Doing it myself in my spare time.
