Is the satilite imagery higher resolution on google pro?

 

Alot of google maps its pretty fuzzy........

The best bet is to ask the client for a copy of their farm grant schemes maps, when I dealt with them they were on a CD.

 

Currently it looks like the FC felling licence consultation mapping is straightforward. The maps in the base layer are as MAGIC but without watermark and in colour.

You can register for one of the OS agents like Emapsite and buy .pdf as planning extracts. In the past you could register with them and get a preview prior to purchasing a licence which you could save using printscrn and print.

It's getting much better, all those grey military planes that have been buzzing about have been generating good images.

I think the imagery in Google Earth and the Pro version is from the same source, the Pro version offers more functionality.

I've used requestaplan.co.uk for site plans, super easy and very professional but limited to 1:1250 which isn't much good for fields. Looks like emapsite has some really good details and features but a bit less easy to use.

 

Seems that field boundaries are less of a priority on many of the maps, if satellite image gets you what you need then that may be the way to go. I know people use screenshot from Google maps for tree work notices but strictly that is breaking the copyright.

I don't think it is breaching their copyright if you attribute the image to them:

That's good to know, I have been feeling a bit guilty about using the occasional google aerial pic.

There may be small print to consider but the large text seems to explain things.
