No heat

The fire is running fairly cool. The flue thermometer is intended to be located on the flue, which should be cooler than the body of the stove.

 

Resite the thermometer and try running it with the temp half way through the grey.

I have to run my stove (Jotul something or other, so presumably a good stove) hard with good dry wood (softwood best) to get the temp of the stove body up to the end of the 'best operation' section.

 

Dry wood, small logs, air intake wide open etc.

Self installed 5kW Morso, my own produced conifer firewood, no stove thermostat, draught on minimum/zero, but easily and quickly boils a kettle, and requires firing restraint to prevent overheating of about 800 sq ft.

It should be that simple, if the wood is dry.
