Hi,

Looking to get a new transit tipper style van. Looking spend around 15k on it as I dont want it breaking down every month.

Im pretty weary of spending that much money on something from ebay or fb marketplace.

What are some of the best sites?

Ive exhausted TruckLocator and Autotrader

Cheers

Try all the sites. Parkers is pretty good. Lot of fly-by-nights on Autotrader now. Click on the seller's website and there's a nice professional looking site with "Laura" in a little box in the corner of the screen waiting to talk to you on Messenger. But when you ring up you instantly get diverted to a mobile number and someone with a Polish or Pakistani accent tells you the truck is at his "other premises" which turns out to be a gateway to some waste ground near a housing estate in Sheffield.

Shit loads of that on Autotrader these days.

And talking of Sheffield, I wouldn't buy a truck from anywhere further north of there because of the amount of salt used on the roads. Use a number plate locator checker site as well. Some dealers buy cars and trucks cheap in Scotland then take them south, give them a blow over with waxoyle and sell them at southern prices.

I wouldn't buy anything that's been freshly waxoyled underneath. I'd rather pay to have it done myself.
