Not BSA but you undoubtedly know where it’s roots lie. Myself and two other lads competed in the 80s & 90s on a mixture of 2 stroke machines, one of whom much to our ridicule at the time decided to take a punt on a 78 580 which he still has to this day, price now  is probs 10 times what he paid. I tried it for one race after he wiped himself out one time but could not get to grips with the 1 up 2 down right hand change box. I still have a cracking book called “Rolling Thunder a history of CCM( Alan Clews era) that I got for Xmas many years ago. ( stock pic)

Rolling Thunder is a great book,i,ve got a mate i used to race with who is currently building a CCM just like that,he,s using all new parts as much as he can from Clews,Rod Spry is doing a 4 speed engine for him,one on Ebay at the minute for £30,000

They and most of the big open class 2 strokes from that era  have turned out to be cracking investments.

Thats the one he,s dropped the price a bit now i think,this chap really does restore mx bikes properly,he,s got a huge collection of bikes
