Another wood-based crossbow

I had a lot of fun making a replica crossbow based on an archaeological picture of a group of 1040s discoveries from Colletieres and Charavines. This is a lovely tiny crossbow with a refined appearance. Most copies, I believe, have made a mistake by using the wrong shape trigger; the original had a very upright trigger that you pushed against with your thumb, but all the replicas I've seen had a flatter form that you press down. The trigger is shown in the fired position in the bottom picture. This form enabled you to keep the bolt in position while still clutching the tiller with your trigger hand, leaving your other hand free to support the bow, which was 4 feet long and 1.5 inches thick. This isn't one of them. It's a garden toy, with a 30 pound draw weight and a 33 inch lath that's 1.5 cm thick, but it's a lot of fun at 50 feet.
