"10. Speed limiters in new cars

GPS device that will limit your speed if it thinks you're breaking the limit - I'm sure that will work fine!!

What happens when there's errors, or the system is hacked O.o

According to the national safety council. Speeding was a factor in 26% of all traffic fatalities in 2019, killing 9,478, or an average of over 25 people per day.

I reckon the lives saved from slowing down idiots is worth the occasional tech issue that might accidentally slow you down..

Is that excessive speed, or breaking the speed limit?

Bath are trying to charge me £189 or send debt collectors as I paid the £9 fee a day late.

I've sent a letter basically telling them to do one and my rates for any further letters I have to send with proof of payment for the clean air zone.

How does 9 quid even make the air cleaner. Are they using it for environmental services or is just a earner.

Its not a statute or act or law so it's a civil matter. Remember the council work for us and dont own anything we do.

Mass civil disobedience is the only way to combat these issues i think, if nobody paid it they'd stop.

What;s your youngest 42 year old bike then? I so regret selling any of my old bikes.

Yes I did too. Didn’t appreciate my 5 year old Le Mans and sold it 38 years ago to fund the latest rocket I could afford.
I wouldn’t appreciate the ergonomics of my earliest Guzzi but still like a lazy comfortable twin with character that can cruise at a ton but saves my licence and gives good fuel economy at 80 or so. I find BMW boxers and Jap bikes soulless, comfortable Ducatis too ugly and Brit bikes too much of a faff for reliability.

I started on a BSA M20 . Took the sidecar off and rode it round a field at the age of 13 .  Had all kinds of bikes through the years including a VFR 750F with a TTS 837 big bore kit on it . Last bike was a year 2000 Fire Blade . I got smashed to bits on it by a blind woman in a Renult Megan . 2132154759_Honda2.thumb.jpg.49226fdf210cbf07868afd45f0f38b6e.jpgHonda.thumb.jpg.34c826aaec40c768b79a3d159f4d3c18.jpg
