Pulley for winching

A slight de-rail of subject.

Does any-one know just how much force in tons, 20hp at the pto might create on a Uniforest winch?

The force on the wire is related to the friction of the clutch plate and the amount of wire left on the drum, so on a bare drum and as long as the tractor doesn't stall you will reach the rated pull of the winch

What ever the winch is rated to but I doubt it would be suitable for any thing over 3 tonne if that! , it's the gearing on the winch not the tractor that makes the pull ... I think [emoji38]
I've used 4 tonne winches on 40hp tractors and your more likely to flip the tractor than stall the winch.
But you do need the HP when you start going up in tonnes from memory.
