Hate to be the odd one out, but... I find a second system handy here and there.

When on moving rope, I'd use the other end now and then for more comfortable work positions. So now, when I'm up a tree on stationary rope, I'll often have my hitchclimber set up on the bridge too. Not always. And especially not the last tree at 15:30 on any day with a y in it !

Today I had twin stationary set ups on the go while deadwooding cedars, it helped more than it hindered. I was only ever really using one, but the other was always there, and it was super handy for bypassing limbs.

I wouldn’t ever slate 2-rope working when it’s comfier, faster, safer, or more appropriate on some jobs.

I will say it’s a total crock of shit on a lot of jobs, though, and I will simply never use it on those.

Single stem connies?

Chogging a pole?

Where are your 2 separate anchors?

It’s unnecessary clutter.

Unnecessary clutter is dangerous.

100%, nail on the head.

If it doesn't help you, it's dangerous.
