Hi. Does anyone have any experience or advice they could provide on transplanting a mature Japanese Umbrella Pine? This tree is 15m high and 8.5m wide and is around 90 years old. Does the species transplant well and can withstand root pruning to a large rootball and has the capacity to reestablish well?

Thanks

The tree is exposed but showing no signs of wind damage, good quality loam. The rootball will be too big for a tree spade so hand dig and crane. Im really after any advice on anyone familiar with transplanting this species or experience of root pruning this species

Unusual species have you had a little dig around ? Got any time to prepare ? Would try to move in late spring if possible , have you worked out how big a crane you will need and method of access. Have you thought of boxing up and moving with bulldozer bigger rootball and cheaper
