Fungus on ash

I've had some helpful suggestions to identify this but wondered if you had any other ideas. It's an old ash tree otherwise looking fairly healthy, fungus has been there several  years so far. It turns more yellow with age but no larger brackets seem to form, habit generally flat. Many thanks

Thanks, that had been suggested but the photos I've looked at don't seem similar at all. I haven't ever seen larger brackets than now, unless the cows eat them .

I wouldn't get too hung up on what the book says, its a big old Ash, and the most likely candidate is Perenniporia.

After twenty years of trying to get my head around tree fungi, i still feel that i don't know very much, and their form has so many variations.  Get Mr Humphries book, you won't find better .
