Very quiet...made less noise than some kettles. 


Not sure if many made it across the channel though. They are 220/240V if that helps?

 

 

Expensive for what looks like a hermetically sealed compressor from a refrigerator sat on a reservoir. You could probably make one from an old fridge freezer and a propane tank with a pressure switch and a timer to stop it running more than ten minutes in 30 minutes.

I would be looking at second hand. Pretty sure something would turn up. Maybee's after  wait.

I made a simple 20mm ish mdf box and lined it by stapling carpet to the inside of it, the difference was night and day, I used to hate the compressor suddenly starting in workshop, now it doesn’t bother me at all as it is very much a background muffled noise.

The box is about 21/2 times the size of the compressor and has a 50mm opened slit along one edge which faces the wall, this in my mind allows plenty air flow.
