has anyone done or know of any studies into the weakening of rigging ropes over time and use?

just wondering as 5yrs life is the general loler rule, so how much weaker are the ropes at this time?

we tend to end up down grading rigging ropes to pull ropes and probably put more strain on them.

then short bits for pulling logs vehicles etc in which a lot of strain ends up on them.

so in doing the above iam happy enough with the ropes safety margins, just wondered if there was data about.

thanks carl
