Trailer towing

It's refreshing to see regulations being reduced on something for once. As someone who's been putting off their trailer test for years (despite being able to drive one from experience with tractors) it's great news.

Let's just hope everyone towing them shows the same common sense as the government...

It’ll allow more people to carry out haulage duties, i rekon we’ll see more changes towards other licences yet, i.e rigids and the likes, allowing more younger people in to driving positions for delivering stuff, food etc, with the so called “lack of drivers we have in the uk”

regards common sense….. 🥴 scary when so many will jump at it with inexperience! It’ll entice more women in to the trade too i bet! 🥴 DOUBLE SCARY! 🤣🤣

Especially with current driver wage increases, women that can earn more money than in an office doing admin / accounts etc, and they’ll love the attention that comes with it! 🥴 defo scary!

Result. Very happy here. We are starting to see proof of the benefits of leaving the EU.

😂 Hardly, we've got a massive driver shortage because of leaving the EU, so they're scrapping towing tests so that there are more tests free for HGV's. Just off the phone with a lorry driver who said haulage companies will probably be reluctant to hire drivers who've passed under these new rules too.

I thought  trailer training was a good idea but like all these things it was turned it into an expensive dogs dinner, it should have only ever been a day out with a trailer trainer and cert of competence at the end. Not everyone is capable of loading or towing a trailer so we will probably see a big rise in accidents.I would still use the services of a trailer trainer before I let one of our younger drivers loose with a 3.5 ton trailer.
