Yes but I get called by you arb types at all sort of times even bank holidays, late at night and Sundays so it isn't just your general public types!!!

Boxing day many moons ago.

1 I'd left my works mobile on accidently

2 I foolishly  answered it.

" Now then about me grinder "

Its boxing day

"Well you'll not be busy then "

It was a very short conversation!

I'm not self employed, I'm an employee and director of my Ltd company. I think it's important to make a distinction between work hours and outside work.
I need to switch off from work, else it could take over all my life and for me that's not what I want or would make me happy.
Not saying others are wrong for taking calls til 10pm at night, but it doesn't work for me.

never leave my phone on at night it will tell you if you have missed a call or a text will come through when you switch it on in the morning some people work different shifts to others so don't get uptight about them after all if you leave your phone on you are hoping it will ring with potential work

Phone goes off or ‘do not disturb’ when I don’t want to be disturbed.

Other people have different work / life patterns or different time zones if, for example, living working overseas.

They can phone / email whenever suits them and I’ll answer / respond as suits me.

What I find more annoying is the:

”...I’ve been worried about this tree for years, can you come as soon as possible and look at it...”

Yeah, no problem, I’ll be sure to fit it in at some point in the next couple of years....

So what you are really saying is that you dont like people using a conduit to contact you, that you have advertised for them to use?

This surprises me as its up to you to manage how clients contact you out of working hours, voicemail, txt etc.

I havnt answered my phone for about two months now.In the past I would never consider calling anyone back who for example called 16 times in a row in a frantic attempt to contact me.If they cannot understand I am not answering the phone and choose instead to harrass me,I choose not to service their requirements.

Its up to you to manage your business, not alter peoples behaviours and certainly not whinge on an internet forum about it.

I was on the phone at 11pm the other night to someone whose website had been hacked. Spent an hour with them and arranged a plan for me to migrate the site to my server and fix the issue, then provide ongoing hosting. The next day came and I heard nothing. Noticed their website has been fixed though after I pointed them in the right direction 😡
