Job Role: Tree Surgeon

Salary Range: £26k to £30k

Key Responsibilities:

Working with a small team dealing in all aspects of tree surgery, hedge trimming and ground maintenance to very high standards.

Be able to understand, plan, and communicate with the team.

To maintain good working environments on site, contributing to the vision and values of the business.

To maintain a positive and productive working ethic, with team members, being able to take on responsibility.

Ensure and maintain compliance with health and safety legislation, minimising risk and reporting when required, and to comply with internal and external health and safety policy.

To ensure business is always conducted in a professional and courteous manner.

Use your own knowledge and experience to make appropriate judgements regarding job modifications, programmes, risks, opportunities, and variances.

 

Required Knowledge & Experience:

At least five years’ experience and comprehensive knowledge in arboriculture operations, including felling, technical rigging, and large trees.

A good knowledge of trees with good tree identification skills, pests, and obvious defects.

 

Skills & Competencies

Takes a proactive approach using own initiative with a ‘can-do’ approach.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Organised with a keen eye for detail.

Enthusiasm, self-reliance, ambition, tact, discretion, and charm.

Ability to foster and maintain successful working relationships with colleagues.

 

Our ideal candidate will have, or hold equivalent qualifications;

Full UK Driving Licence (manual)

Punctual and able to liaise with clients in a professional manner

002003 City & Guilds Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-cutting (CS 30, 31)

002013 City & Guilds Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue (CS 38, 39)

002004 - City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm

002107 - City & Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award in Aerial Tree Pruning

002108 - City & Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award in Aerial Cutting of Trees with a Chainsaw Using Free-fall Techniques

 

Other desirable qualifications / experience include:

Trailer Licence, Woodchipper, Stump grinder.

IPAF MEWP Certification

002115 - City and Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award in the Safe Use of a Chainsaw from a Mobile Elevated Work Platform

002109 - City & Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award in Aerial Tree Rigging

First Aid & Manual Handling

SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS & ROLO

Valid full UK driving licence

Able to perform basic maintenance on the vehicles and equipment
