Another one this morning, held me and several cars up for ages with nothing happening, no potholes, no workforce, just people too lazy to move the cones for the night and turn the lights off.

Straight bit of road too.  I imagine this is the case all around the country with thousands of vehicles needlessly held up with their engines idling.  Makes a mockery of trying to keep emissions down.

This one gets me all the time, really winds me up. If I had had my way, all road works once started must be worked on until completion.

Is that not a water leak running out the middle of the lights?

Annoying when people aren't there but it might be the to company set the lights up and the gang to do the works haven't got there yet?

Sorry for seeming to continually bother you in this thread.

I've done it 😂. Terrible talebacks on the A30, going to Cornwall.  Fella darts off. I thought, he looks like he knows where he's going. Me and about 16 other vehicles followed him. He hadn't got a clue! Took us up a dead end track. Caravans having to back up and all sorts. Chaos! 😂

Stay out of Cornwall then you barstewards!

’kin nightmare every Summer 🤯

Cormac at their very best today. No pic but I’ll try and set the scene....

We’d just finished on a job in the back country (single track, over grown hedges, grass in the middle of the road, normally see no more than 2 horses and a goat per day) when we happened across a Cormac van stopped in the lane all lights blazing but like the Mary Celeste.....

Mate in front stopped, I couldn’t see what the problem was but eventually got out to walk up and see what was going on.

I said have you spoken to them? No he said.

I squeezed past the Cormac van and 20m up the road there were 2 herberts in the ditch clearing land drains.

Queue of traffic waiting to get past I said.

They BOTH packed up. Loaded their gear in the van and reversed 50m to let us pass.

Not really a sign related post but pulled my chain. Why did they both have to pack up and load their gear just to move the van and then both have to move back again AND with the state of the roads in Cornwall, why 2 Herberts are working in the outback on a road that’s no more than a farm track is astonishing!

You can see where BT or whatever they are called now have put barriers around the duct chamber they've pumped out in the verge. I guess you never noticed that?

Wish I had photographic evidence for it but was too astounded to think of it, just the other day I was following the black on yellow diversion signs when I came upon a do u U turn sign in the same colour scheme. Another contractor had managed to get a closure on a diversion route and it found it quite acceptable just to tell drivers to get lost. Good thing I was in the mighty Corsa so I could turn round 🤪
