Hey guys what's the cheapest decent mechanical chain sharpener available at the minute and what mechanical chain sharpener do people consider to be the best value currently please

Where are you? If close to south Durham you can come and take my old one for nowt. It’s manual not electric

A file . The mechanics of it are your arms and hands . Nothing better .

Bought this, and it does the job. But you need a dremel ( which you should have anyway)  K

Got this. Had it years. Really like it, especially the for long Milling chains with metal damage

Works off any 12v battery. Fast and accurate chain sharpening. Once familiarised very easy to use - clamps to the bar for consistent teeth.

I've had mine forever and really like the convenience of having spare chains to swap over and save a few till I have a sharpening session doing 4 or 5 at once. I do use files to sharpen on the saw while cutting.

Another thumbs up for the Grandberg. Cracking wee sharpener that also takes down the Rakers to a set height and does so very accurately.

As it’s 12v you can take it with you when working away from the workshop.
