In my 20' I personally was thinking of sex and drink mostly (very distracting for any work never mind climbing[emoji482]) YA and fast money to get drink and sex, never seen a good climber younger than 30,maybe I was in wrong place[emoji849]. Dispite my advice sound humorous, it is good.

I think it takes 10 years to make a good climber that is why ... 15-20 years a very good climber and when past 25 years and it’s a kind of reverse t being the best , you know what you should be doing , still make it look easy but your body’s telling you that you can’t push it like you used too whilst slowly becoming an arthritic mess... I wish I hadn’t taken all those drugs and drank so hard now....?

U want to be a climber:

1} Fallow the money now, leave current company, 2 brothers in the 20-30 will not last, no future's there.

2}Get most payd job you can get.

3}Save money, get all tickets, you need, sport every evening, self education, basic gear, recreational climbing, never drink hard, don't waste time on women or man, more training.

4} Work harder, more recreational climbing, more self education, stop drinking at all, more training, very little sex.

5}After about 2-3 years, you possibly ready to start looking for work in tree company

6}Once you find a place in good established tree company expect

1}work as hard as possible on probation period, show that you can do anything what requires, think about company as its yours.

2}After a year or two expect reasonable wages.

All you need it's time and ability to fallow a plan, very rare those days!

As always apologies for bad English, I like maths more!

YA I FORGOT, MAN NEVER CRY!

To the OP.... in all seriousness though I think you are going about it the right way ... think of it as training for stamina in handling Wood , the second point is you will be having the joy of watching climbers work , visualise every thing they do that works and doesn’t work so you don’t put your self in that situation... learnt more in that time than any other in my career point of view and gives you a foundation for good training afterwards.
After a year of this your boss should start paying for training or think about moving on 3 years time you should be pretty far advanced with a good work discipline and a fair bit of experience if you have stuck it this far you should have a good career and will have commanded my respect just for sticking at it...

If your young smash as much pussy as possible and drink and do drugs until your kidneys nearly fail... never hurt any of us.

I had two 17 year olds dragging for me this morning and I showed them this.

They are researching arb courses this afternoon.
