Was there not a lad agrimog? on here, u used to post, can't mind seeing him post for a while.

Was he not a sawmiller?

Wot are u wanting done with them??

If ur struggling I'm not that far away, moffat and meat all the way.

Was cutting on a job at Denny and carluke in the spring so not any further than m used too.

Just looking to have them milled into 'usable' slabs, either to sell on or making furniture probably. Some of it just too good to chop into firewood.

Think I've got someone now but if not I'll give you a shout, yes, Moffat not too far really.

Okay thanks, will do. Not urgent but would ideally be looking to mill them (or even some if it's more than a day's worth or work) in a couple of weeks time or so.

Will get some photos and post them soon. A couple are ready to go already and more getting felled/cut at the end of this week.

You would not get as many logs milled with an Alaskan as you might hope. For example a 1m wide Beech Log 3m+ long will take the best part of the day to Mill. You'd get started on the second log, maybe even get a good way through it but Id be surprised if you get any more done.

Different story with a Bandsaw so if you can find one and can move the logs around you'd get a lot more done in a day.

Just to add are u sure it is furniture grade timber?

Felled a few nice shaped/looking oak a few months ago, boss of company we were subbed in to was convinced worth a fortune even thou low branches etc, be ok for hobby boys but needs to be good to sell commercially.

Timber haulier burst out laughing when he seen its roadside, went for firewood.

There is another lad from moffat who has a proper band saw mill, not sure if he travels far with it.

Fat and thin timber company I think he is called, or something like that

Hi All, I have a farm out near Airdrie and am having a handful of trees taken down over the next wee while, mainly Beech and of a fair size, I'd say up to around 1m diameter. I was wondering if anyone round about here has a mobile sawmill service, or any suggestions for anyone to try? Access is generally decent, other than under a low (11'3") railway bridge near the entrance.

Just had a new listing added this morning thats only 10 miles away from Airdrie
