Sheared recoil cover studs on 560xp

I have recently had one recoil cover stud snap on my 2020 560, carried on using it on 3 studs for a few days until replacement obtained, but then a second has gone in that space of time. I don't recall the saw getting a whack from anything and i've not had this previously - has anone had a similar issue and had much success with drilling out the snapped ends and retapping.

Drill the broken stud and use an easy out to remove them, just make sure it is a decent drill and a decent quality stud remover as some are pretty mediocre by anyones standards.

The biggest issue is if the drill wanders in to the softer alloy as that will be bad news.

I have seen snapped ones on 395/390 top cover but not the recoil cover.

I have seen most things but I can honestly say not broken starter cover screws on 560, plenty on K760, as Steve says make sure you get the centre pop smack in the middle because it takes a split second to wander off and into the magnesium, I can understand a bit better a second breaking if you carried on with three holding the cover, best of luck sir.
