Benthams cypress?

Hello.

 

I think this is Benthams cypress (Cupressus lusitanica var. Benthamii). Does anyone disagree? Don't want to misidentify as something unusual and have it turn out to be something very common! The spikes/hooks below the sprays seem like a clue. Sprays are flattish. Not as obviously flat as Thuja but definitely not round. Pale yellow flowers currently visible. No cones to aid identification.

Do you mean there were no cones on the tree at all? You sure it's a cypress?

I reckon you can tell the client Leylandii and they won't argue 99.9% of the time, whatever type of conifer it is.
