New land owner. Weed Id..

Recommended Posts

Hi there, just joined after reading forum

for a good few years, recently bought a house with 3acres which some is a field and another small portion is a small wooded area. I have these weeds in clusters here and there and was looking to see if anyone can help me Id them, previous owner has strummed a good few. Thanks, mark

The cut off stalks are dock, 99% certain of that and if you take a pic of any leaves amongst them would confirm. Hogweed stalks are a much lighter colour.

Struggling to id the tumbled down dead things, look similar to nettle and willow herb but I don't think it's either. Better pic of the leaves and flower structure on them would help.

Not really important as either way a directed application of glyphosate will work. Painted on at a 50:50 watered down mix stirred into wallpaper paste means it only gets what you put it on.

Thanks, I have a glosphate based weed killer here, so il wait until they start to green up and spot treat first as they are in clumps. Couple of sheep would probably graze them out quicker!

Is either that or u get some weed killer that targets broad leaves.

Not up on weedkiller, but got some Blast/headland flail? off a farmer bloody brilliant stuff on nettles and docks but left grass untouched.

But either way as well waiting till spring
