It’s not around our neck of the woods, and I’m certain it doesn’t relate to dogs in any way. But I did wonder if there might be a less-than-honest reason for the markings.

Follow it, it may lead to a Chinese takeway :dontknow:

So does everyone else though. There's hardly a street sign or gate that hasn't got cable ties on it these days.

Just how does it possibly help a dog thief?

I would go with utilities markings but by us we had white chalk markings by driveways which were supposedly dog nappers. Would have thought they would just use Google maps or what three words considering it's not the 80's anymore... 😂

They put small cable tie on gate or railing of property where they spot valuable dog. Then come back later to steal.

First and second ones say 45 and 55 with an arrow. The others it seems they have changed their mind on the direction of flow and crossed the arrow out and rewritten it pointing the opposite direction.
What are the blue pipes?
They look like hand rails, so i can’t imagine what it’s all supposed to mean! [emoji38]

We've found that some female versions can read and rite on Irish forums too, it's got to the stage that we might have to be careful what we say about them online now.

As to OP, I reckon the numbers could be depth.
