Echo parts availability?

I know Echo haven't got the best rep for parts availability at the best of times, but does anyone know whether the 8 day lead time I've been quoted for a sprocket cover is realistic given the state of the shipping world currently?

My local dealer said there was no stock whatsoever showing for him to order, so placed an order for the part from an online supplier who looked like they had it in country only to get a message saying they didn't  and it was on backorder from Japan.

It's for an older CS-350tes so hoping they don't turn around in two weeks and say its just no longer available, otherwise I'd have wasted time I could have spent getting it shipped from  the States where there seems to be plenty of stock still 🙄

Stuff from germany seems to comes as fast  as stuff from inside the   UK.

Might be different now with brexit alot of places don't ship anymore and im unsure about if any new duties....

Cheers for the suggestions guys, managed to get the last bit I  needed from eBay Italy which got here in a couple of days, rather than nearly a month for the backorder from Japan!

I've now got a duplicate sprocket cover for a Cs-350tes if anyone needs one.

I ordered a part for a stihl last year. It had to come from Germany. Almost 3 months and still no sign. ( via honey bros ).

Yup you're quite right, a Brexit/Covid double whammy I think!

I think some company's are use it to there advantage, after 9 weeks wait for a part I emailed them about it got delivered 2 days later.

They were tanaka parts.

You could both be right! I book loads of parts each and every day. And also check the eta of orders. They either arrive early or a longer than expected when on back order. I don't think the manufacturer's know them selves when stuff will arrive in the country, we waited 6 months just for a pressure washer hose to arrive last year. Needless to say the customer wasn't to chuffed
