Give us an example  of what yr aiming at, plus if any of it includes Highways. K

I'm not a landowner, I've started buying some standing timber and interested in taking on more work in the woods. So I'm after information on what makes up a woodland management agreement ?

Verbal and mutual trust is the best. However you want some form of paper trail as back up to which both parties agree to for when it all goes wrong.
If you are after small amount of timber (sub 200 m3) in small woodlands then a management plan isn't much use.
The forestry commission has a management plan guide on its website.

Yes I agree you need some written (verbal as verbs can be written) and not just an oral (spoken) agreement.

An eminent judge said in a judgement where someone had breached such an agreement, and I paraphrase; "a gentleman's agreement is an agreement between two people, neither of whom are gentleman and neither intended to honour the agreement.

If it cannot be written down it's not worth having.

First would be a Woodland survey, then you know what you have got. I do a minimum of two for the different seasons as often my work is eco based.  K
