Anyone got or used one?

Looking at possibly buying one but would like feedback from real users

6hp is not enough... Less than 13hp is a waste of time, ideally 20hp plus for productive grinding.

Just looked it up on YouTube, possibly better than a mattock but save a bit more and go bigger engine you won’t regret it, a 13hp grinder is hard work I would imagine 6hp would be painfull.

 

Have a look at the rock ones if you want small and cheap people say there good value But I’ve not used one.

The first (small) stumps I ever ground was with a 9hp Dosko: they're good machines but even 9hp was too small for anything but the diddiest job.

As said 13hp is a world away from that; sufficient for most stumps and will get into virtually any garden.

 

Hire one for a day and see for yourself.  The Rayco RG13 is the industry standard for want of a better term. I was very impressed with the Carlton machine but don't know if that's available for hire; I got one from Orange Plant when they served the South
