Have a close look at vibration specs before you buy anything. That titan one was 6.3m/s an ms261 is 3.5 m/s so you're going to have it much worse with the electric one.

Cheap electric chainsaws never have any anti-vibration kit built into them and they are completely solid chassis. Obviously the numbers on paper are subjective but give you at least a basic idea!

Good point, thanks. I'd assumed that elec would be gentler. Having said that, my petrol saw is a cheapy spear and Jackson (Chinese wodowmaker) so anythjng should be an improvement.

As well as vibration, consider the ergonomics. The Stihl corded saw handle is fat and tiring to hang on to. The Dewalt battery saw dead man switch is very stiff and needs finger/thumb strength.

Also good point, cheers. Will see if I can get my hands on one to try.

4.3m/s on the vibration front though so still worse than a stihl 261. It's not the engine that creates the vibration, it's mostly the chain and as the electric stuff doesn't have A/V mounts you're setting yourself up to make your injury worse.

For the £160 mark you could get a Husky 130 which is petrol but only 3.6m/s on vibration and would probably be more capable and longer lasting?

Those einhells are cracking value and really solid built. The link i posted gives a battery and they do the cordless chain sharpener for a few quid (£25) and ozito is same make as einhell

I was looking for an electric saw a few weeks ago and got the Sthil 120 battery saw, thought about a corded saw but battery is mor versatile.

It’s a wee cracker, a good bit more than a Titan, but having tried both the Sthil is a different class. You won’t regret it, I haven’t and as I’ve said many times before on Arb talk I’m tight as fu+k !
