Looks like they are on their way! The connectivity feature will be handy for any companies looking to use battery saws for as much of their work as possible

I noticed payload is 1.6t vs 2.2t for normal van, so looks like 600kg batteries.

So that's no chip at all on an arb truck unless you leave the saws behind.

Don't know if this has passed or not yet, 4.25t on a B licence

Changes to regulations to support the take-up of alternatively fuelled light commercial vehicles.

The electric vans will still be eye wateringly expensive to buy though.

Oh and at 4.25t no towing allowed!

For amazon, tesco, dpd, royal mail etc which is the  target market they are are going to be huge.

For niche stuff like towing not so much. Be cheaper to downplate a 7,5 tonner to retain its train weight and then convert it to electric. 4wd, never paying a fuel bill again, ditching majority of fossil fuel tools etc.

End of the day this is the leading edge like when henry ford's first motor was crap compared to a horse and cart.

That derogation pisses me off, if it OK for "alternatively fuelled" vehicles to run at 4.25t it is simply safe to run at 4.25 tonne regardless of the fuel type.
